I find myself building alot of of stuff like this for my studio too. One of the most handy tools is a 20v battery 16 gauge dewault finishing nail/brad gun. It works great if you make your own frames or panels too.

I am redoing the insulation and drywall in my studio, which means I had to move out completely. So now I get to re-think the lighting and what I’m going to bring back in. I really appreciate your tips! It never occurred to me to go all white. I’m going to have to ponder that one. I have wheels on almost everything. I love having rolling carts filled with different types of supplies so I can roll them up to my work area, depending on what I’m doing at the time. One is all of my colored pencils and current sketchbooks, for example. IKEA used to sell the best little clip on lights with really long cords. I’m glad I stocked up because I can’t find them anymore. So useful. And I’m going to create a book from my art. Great idea. Shutterfly often has discounts on little photo books.

I love 7 Lakes CC and this home. However, the video got too quickly into details and objects. Architecture is always hard to show on camera. It should have started by walking straight to the glass wall and the view which is the wow factor - 7 Lakes has the best views - and then shown a return long shot from the other side of the fairway so we could see the whole house. If allowed, a drone shot would give us more wow and our bearings. Then do the details.

Hello Chase--thank you for the info and tour of your studio space. Im in the midst of changing my home space to establish my studio. I work in prettu large pieces. But Im trying to do two mediums, Acrylic and Encaustic. This is a problem. Other problem--an old house with light issues and exhaust issues--for the encaustic and other toxic paint issues. AND the old house--my space is cut up into narrow spaces--sigh... I use a large table. But I would prefer to use an easel like yours--Ive had a hard time finding a really SOLID easel like yours. I dont find easels with solid bases and frames that hold a canvas securely. Can you share the brand names and where you purchased? I think you reenforced yours--but they still seem to be designed and built better than others I find in stores. Looks like you get a lot of your paint and materials at Blick. Are you using oils or acrylics? Looks like Oils because I am not recognizing the packaging. Great video---also liked the storage. I have limited space for storage. The aluminum rods is great. I also saw your other video about packaging paintings for shipping. I wish I had seen that a couple years ago. I was trying to write down the name of the material you wrap a painting with first. I am sure I heard/spelled it wrong. Glascine? Thanks much--Be Well Barbara
